Today’s Last Quarter Moon transmission is free for all subscribers — enjoy!

Aspects discussed in today’s transmission include:

This week’s Last Quarter Moon in Capricorn is ruled by Saturn in Aries, a notoriously difficult place for Saturn’s need to build structure over time. Aries is the fire starter, an initiator, moving at the pace of its ruling planet, Mars, who has just entered Aries a few hours prior to the LQM in Capricorn.

Aries is about to get an infusion of fresh energy with Mars’ homecoming, however, this also means that we have two malefic planets with opposite desires in cardinal fire for the next 6 week; Mars is pushing the gas pedal while Saturn is applying the brakes. And while Saturn will be in Aries for a long haul, Mars has the upper hand in the planetary dynamic — Mars is the ruler of Aries while Saturn is in fall here.

What this might look like is taking action now, like throwing spaghetti at the wall to see what sticks; whatever remains when Mars leaves Aries on May 18th will need to face Saturn’s test of time. And with a Chiron Cazimi happening in Aries less than 24 hours before the Aries New Moon, the material you are working with at this Last Quarter Moon in Capricorn may be activating a deeply rooted insecurity around your own agency.

The Last Quarter Moon is a time of integration and release; symbolically we prepare for a mini underworld journey during the Dark Moon, the period of time between the last sighting of the waning moon (sometime around the Balsamic Moon), through the conception period of the New Moon (a monthly lunar cazimi) until the first sighting of the waxing moon (sometime around the Crescent Moon). This is a highly underrated yet powerful death/rebirth portal that opens every 28 days or so.

The square between the Sun in Aries and the Moon in Capricorn is what creates the Last Quarter Moon. A waning Moon is a time of letting go, and in some cases cutting your losses. Luna is melancholy in Capricorn, technically considered to be in detriment. Translation — it’s not the Moon’s favorite place to be! Capricorn is not known for feelings, and the Moon’s transit through chilly Capricorn may be a challenging one, especially with Saturn’s difficulties in Aries.

At the time of the LQM, the Moon is opposing Jupiter in her home sign of Cancer and being steered by a cranky Saturn. Meanwhile, the Sun is exalted in Aries, fueled by hot headed Mars. All of this contradictory energy (rulership! exaltation! detriment! fall! hot! cold!) gives you an opportunity to consider the contradictions you may be experiencing at this time. Like fault lines, there are limitations in current structures that need to be addressed before the foundation gives way completely. You may need to break with the traditional way you manage this type of tension, accessing the fire that will help you build new support systems for whatever is emerging.

This moment asks you to consider what is inherited (Capricorn) and what is instinctual (Aries). With Mercury finally out of its retrograde shadow, the mind fog that has surrounded the thinking process since Mercury entered its pre-retrograde shadow on February 11 finally begins to lift. Mercury will enter Aries on April 14th, putting an end to the journey through Pisces until next year. Even as the Moon grows darker, a fire will be lit in the mind, helping you to see in the dark as you move bravely away from outgrown versions of staying small.

CHIRON CAZIMI — IDENTITY CRISIS

Chiron in Aries can activate the wound around existence itself, the right to BE. Aries is the I AM, and this seed of distortion is usually planted at a very young age. It can show up as a fear of taking up too much space, the habit of asking for permission before taking action, or chronic hesitation of taking the next step. This will be particularly true for folks who have Chiron in Aries in their natal charts; however, right now everyone has the opportunity to reevaluate the “identity” of their Aries house.

The Sun meets up with Chiron once a year, and from 2019 - 2026 this conjunction (aka Cazimi) has been happening in Aries. This is the last time the two planets will meet in Aries — in 2027 Chiron moves into Taurus in the final week of Aries season, and we will have our first Chiron Cazimi in Taurus. So not only is this the last time we will experience a Chiron Cazimi in Aries, but it is happening in the Dark Moon Portal, less than 24 hours before the New Moon.

• Thursday April 16th at 8:10 am — Sun/Chiron Cazimi at 26° Aries 38’

• Friday April 17th at 4:51 am — New Moon at 27° Aries 28’

During this brief window, Chiron sits at the heart of the Sun; illuminated — held and renewed in the life giving light of the Sun. A Chiron Cazimi in Aries is an initiation, a healing fire that germinates a unique seed of self that is clamoring for expression or even existence itself. Although this fire may have been banked for years, the light itself has never been extinguished completely. The following Lunar Cazimi, aka New Moon provides the right medium for planting this seed. Following the lunar timeline, plan to see a fuller expression of this energy at the Aries Full Moon on September 26.

Here are some journal prompts for the Chiron Cazimi; you can easily turn this into a simple ritual by burning the page within 48 hours after the Aries New Moon. This is a witnessing practice, for you and for the Sun. It is not a time to “fix” anything, but rather to surrender whatever is ready to be released into the heart of the Sun so that you can plant seeds of Intent-ion at the Aries New Moon.

With a Full Moon at the beginning of the month, the cosmos is telling us that April will likely feel full on, with much action & impact. The “Pink Moon” is named for the pink phlox wildflowers that bloom at this time of year in the Northern Hemisphere. This is the first Full Moon after the Spring Equinox, symbolizing renewal, growth and fertility.

This Libra Full Moon is the answer to a prayer, a hope, a goal you were working with at the Libra New Moon of Oct 21, 2025. There are some interesting planetary parallels between the New Moon and Full Moon charts, revealing that we are working with very similar situations. (images of both charts are at the bottom of this post)

• Both lunations are ruled by Venus, who is in signs that she rules (Venus was in Libra at the New Moon; Venus is in Taurus at this Full Moon)

• Both charts have the Sun & Moon square Jupiter in Cancer (Sun/Moon were in Libra square Jupiter in Cancer in the New Moon chart; the Sun in Aries and Moon in Libra are T-square Jupiter in Cancer in the Full Moon chart)

• Mercury and Mars are both traveling together in water signs (They were in Scorpio at the New Moon; they are in Pisces in the Full Moon chart)

Relationships are one of the main themes we explore in Libra, and the repeating planetary patterns in the New & Full Moon charts reveal that you are still renegotiating how you show up to yourself as well as to the other person in whatever relationship is currently in the hot seat of your life.

Note that I prioritized showing up to yourself in the paragraph above. The New Moon in Libra with Venus in Libra may have had you being very generous with the “other” in the relational equation, sometimes overcorrecting by minimizing your own needs, desires & wants. With the Sun in Aries in this week’s Full Moon chart, the life force is coming through autonomy and independence.

While you continue evaluating relational dynamics, you are at a different point in your journey, with perspective and wisdom gained over the past 6 months. Both the T-square with Jupiter and Venus square Pluto speak to this in the Full Moon chart, specifically in how you work with the default power dynamics in relationship; this is where the true reorientation is happening — a calling back of power that has been lost in prioritizing the relationship and/or the other person over your own well being.

Oppositions to Neptune & Saturn while the Moon is in early Libra may bring a bubble bursting quality — the rose colored glasses come off as you witness the truth of your situation. You may feel called to redefine boundaries, to draw a line in the sand. Jupiter in Cancer can have you feeling a bit touchy; Mercury in Pisces is trying to help you understand what your feelings are showing you by sourcing wisdom through inner knowing.

Mars in Pisces is animating all the planets in Aries, including the Sun, whose light the Full Moon is reflecting. Mood underscores action in a big way at this Full Moon; and, with the Moon in an air sign, you may find relief in talking it out with someone; if that is not an option, try free writing in your journal or self directed parts work.

However you find yourself at this Full Moon, remember that this is a wave of energy that is peaking and will ease as time passes. April is a POTENT month astrologically speaking; taking the time to work with what is arising right now at the beginning of the month, instead of sweeping it under the rug will help you meet the challenges of April with resilience, strength & grace.

LIGHT BREAKING INTO MANY COLORS AS IT PASSES THROUGH A PRISM

Have you ever stood barefoot on the beach, feet in the waves, ocean water ebbing and flowing over your feet…. each pull of the wave removing a little more sand… your feet slowly sinking into the impressions left behind by the waves… terra firma softening as your bodyweight and the ebb/flow press you deeper and deeper into the sand? And as easy as it would be to lift your feet and reposition, there is something so compelling about allowing them to be buried, to allow the water and the salt and the ever shifting shoreline to have their way with you.

Maybe it’s just me, but this Pisces season has been one of the murkiest and most confusing times that I can remember, due in part to a very difficult Mercury retrograde in Pisces bringing a soggy, waterlogged way of thinking. It’s like the waves have washed away all reason, all meaning, all sense of stability.

The melting, the feeling of treading water, not to mention the intensity of eclipse season and the insanity on the world stage, has left many of us exhausted. It’s as if a glass of water has spilled onto a freshly inked page, the one where the problem you were working on was finally beginning to make sense. Mercury is a planet that thrives on clarity and analysis, and Pisces is a notoriously difficult sign for Mercury — a nebulous, diffuse, unbound mystery that can never be solved by logic or reason which are Mercury’s default ways of being.

It’s possible that what you thought you knew has been cleared away, leaving doubt, confusion and a whole lot of unknowns. And while this might feel like a chasm of emptiness, what is left behind is a vast space for something new to reveal itself.

The Pisces New Moon is the doorway into this new terrain.

Arriving at the threshold of the Spring Equinox, a place of rebirth and renewal*, this Pisces New Moon is a fertile darkness where creative seeds are welcome. At 28° of Pisces, it’s near the end of it all, where every experience dissolves into formlessness. Instead of planning, this is a New Moon of feeling your way into the new.

Ruled by Jupiter in Cancer, there is wisdom available when you turn inward. Your feelings are sacred messengers under this New Moon, pointing you towards a deeper understanding of your own tender nature, your nascent creativity and relationship with source. A square from Jupiter to Venus in Aries brings a spark that ignites audacious hope; while an enlivening sextile from Uranus in Taurus fertilizes whatever visions you are calling from the void.

Stillness is the move — with Jupiter having recently stationed direct and a stationary Mercury hovering retrograde at 8° Pisces, this is not a jump to conclusions kind of vibe. Instead, it is an allowing of the oracle to speak to and through you. This is a New Moon for poetry, music and prayer. This Moon says, all that is, is holy.

The Sabian Symbol for this New Moon offers us a clue to the energetic quality of this lunation: LIGHT BREAKING INTO MANY COLORS AS IT PASSES THROUGH A PRISM. This refraction of light through the prism of your perception can lead to a greater understanding of the relationship between the parts and the whole. It can shed light on many different facets, allowing you to take a kaleidoscopic view — so many colors dancing in patterns that move on their own accord.

With Mercury getting ready to station direct on the 20th, there may be an impatience for things to all make sense, to solidify the form. It could be easy to overstimulate and/or overanalyze the prism of light, trying to quantify and organize that which is beyond the mind. This is not the time for such mental shenanigans; it is a time of empathic listening, attuning to the subtle currents of the heart.

A cautionary note — Pisces is also a place of illusion and escapism. The prism of light can create mayhem if there is underlying overwhelm. Energetic boundaries are of utmost importance whenever we are working within the mutable waters of Pisces. I’ve added the asteroid goddess Hygeia to the chart, for she is making a tight square to this New Moon from Gemini, further emphasizing the need for mental hygiene. Less is less, and less is what most of us need right now.

* I am writing through my northern hemisphere lived experience; southern hemisphere readers are on the threshold of Autumn Equinox.

NINE OF SWORDS: A card of overthinking, overwhelm, anxiety & despair. This is a place of habitual worrying, of nightmares and all sorts of fears. This card points to the less helpful aspects of Pisces energy, including the dysregulation of Mercury rx in Pisces. The Nine of Swords is a call to release the need to solve all the problems from this state of mental paralysis.

ACE OF CUPS: The answers await you in chalice of the cosmic heart — a place of unconditional love and infinite compassion. This New Moon is an invitation to align your heart with Source energy. It asks you to make sure your cup is full, and to be aware of your sweet honeyed heart. Let your New Moon intentions come from this place — the field of love for no reason at all.

Hello friends! I’m still here, although that Blood Moon eclipsed me for a spell.

The astrology activated my natal chart in a very personal way and well, all that you read about eclipses creating major endings and beginnings when lined up just so is absolutely true. I am beginning to land after a whirlwind move that took place during the 2 weeks between the New Moon Solar Eclipse in Aquarius and the Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Virgo.

Just days before the New Moon Eclipse in Aquarius, my life turned upside down; it became clear that I needed to move out of the home I was living in, and within 18 hours I received an opportunity to move back into a house that I first moved into in 2017 when eclipses were happening in Aquarius and Leo. Two weeks of packing and planning ensued, and move day ended up being Monday March 2nd. The first night I slept here was the night of the Blood Moon eclipse which was exactly conjunct my IC — a point in the chart that has a lot to do with roots/foundations.

In addition to the eclipses triggering my natal chart and personal timelines, there were/are many other planetary aspects that are forcing my hand this spring, including my second Saturn return. TBH it’s pretty rough going some moments, and I am grateful for all that has kept me afloat, inducing the generosity of friends (you know who you are), my sweet Virgo kitties, my piano, epsom salt baths, the ocean, the horizon line, so many stars in dark skies, a familiar yet new home, my TimeLord Venus (who I am able to watch setting into the horizon each night) and Jupiter’s protective benevolence in my first house.

What these last few weeks have reminded me is that personal astrology transits are no joke, and understanding the time frame and energetic texture of certain periods is helpful at both making meaning and gaining perspective, especially when life feels completely overwhelming. Hello friends, I’m writing to you from the Dark Moon, the last hours in the Year of the Wood Snake. The energy is intense right now, and it feels as though we are on the edge of monumental change. Eclipse season brings surprises in the form of endings, beginnings and plot twists on both the personal and global scale. I often experience eclipse season as a journey through a cosmic washing machine, with an emphasis on the agitation & spin cycles. So much gets stirred up!

I think we can agree that we, the collective, are having a moment. An awakening to abhorrent behaviors & corruption at the highest levels of power that have been happening all along but hidden in the shadows. Is it the fall of the patriarchy? A witch can dream, and time will tell. What IS true is that we are reckoning with the past in the present moment, while casting our eyes toward the future.

Because eclipses repeat themselves over vast arcs of time, they collapse timelines. Past, present, and future are all at play during eclipse season.

This particular eclipse season has more heightened energy than most due to the fact that it is aligning with some very big, fiery astrology. This week’s New Moon Solar Eclipse in Aquarius on February 17 begins the year of the Fire Horse, and it is followed by the Saturn/Neptune conjunction at 0° Aries on February 20th. Not only that, this eclipse is an annular solar eclipse, also known as a “ring of fire” eclipse.

The cardinal fire of Saturn/Neptune in Aries coupled with a Fire Horse year can bring swiftness, momentum and freedom. Think outward expression. Fast paced movement. Dynamic, passionate energy. There is a real need to keep focused; doing too much or getting pulled in many different directions will lead to overwhelm, burnout & overstimulation.

While this solar eclipse is happening at 28° Aquarius, it is ruled by Saturn in Aries, who is currently hanging out with Neptune, and is in a tight square with Uranus in Taurus. Translations: reality is reorganizing itself, sudden revelations and unexpected outcomes are highly likely. With both the Sun and Saturn are in signs that are traditionally more difficult for these planets it might feel like you have access to less resources than usual, or less access to the usual resources. Strength and faith are required in equal measure right now.

Aquarius is a collective, collaborative air sign. Now more than ever it is important that you travel within communities that feel aligned to you. Note how the culture you surround yourself with is informing your beliefs. Aries is an independent fire sign. Seek out spaces where your authentic presence is welcome.

Although the New Moon is in Aquarius, the North Node (eclipse point) is in Pisces, and the Sun itself enters Pisces just 28 hours after the eclipse. At the time of the Eclipse Venus is conjunct the North Node. Having recently emerged from a 3 month underworld journey, Venus is exalted in Pisces and moving towards a healing trine with Jupiter rx in Cancer, an aspect that will be exact on February 22.

Despite the discomfort and the instability, remember that healing is happening. Let love be your north star, now and always.

The Sabian Symbol for the New Moon says it all: A BUTTERFLY EMERGING FROM A CHRYSALIS. As we cross the threshold into the eclipse tunnel, it is important to recognize that a new way of navigating life will be necessary. Energetically we are moving from slithering to galloping, from the belly to four legs. It might feel a bit wobbly and that is ok! As always, take exquisite care of yourself to the best of your ability so that you have the stamina required to enter the next phase of your life.

I invite you to consider this eclipse as a mediative pause and/or reset, a shedding of the final scales of the Wood Snake skin, removing what is weighing you down so that you can align with the speed at which this year will unfold. How you ride the Fire Horse is unique to you. Pay attention to subtle insights and intuitive knowing. If it’s helpful, take some time to reflect on the years 2017/2018, the last time the Aquarius/Leo eclipse family was active to get a sense of life areas that may reignite.

Happy Full Moon and Blessed Imbolc! A fire full Moon on Brigid’s feast day feels auspicious and filled with the promise of new growth. A Full Moon is many things — a moment in time; emotionally turbulent; the energetic peak of the lunar cycle; a mood that casts its spell for a few days; a lunar poultice that draws hidden material from the psyche to the surface for processing; and, the fulfillment of a 6 month contract with the New Moon in the same sign.

February’s Full Moon in Leo is the response to a call from your heart to the heart of the cosmos in July 2025 at the Leo New Moon.

In the body, Leo is primarily associated with the heart, the central point of our cardiovascular system and a symbol of vitality, as well as the spine and upper back; while Aquarius is associated with circulation & blood flow and also influences nervous system signaling & electrical impulses. Together, Leo and Aquarius both play a role in the cardiovascular system and the circulation of information within the body.

Leo/fixed fire is creative, magnetic and very personal. When enlightened, Leo has access to generosity, courage and fortitude; when distorted, it can be selfish, childish and frivolous. Aquarius/fixed air is where we break away from the traditions of Capricorn and look to the future; Aquarius season brings collective awakening and startling clarity. It is the individual that experiences the collective story, and adds to this story through beliefs, thoughts & actions. This Moon asks you — what stories are living inside of you? Do you like the stories you are telling yourself? How might you want to re-tell a story that no longer serves you? How can we, as a collective of individuals, co-create futures that are not replicas of the past?

Opposing this Full Moon is the Sun in Aquarius, surrounded by all the personal planets (Mercury, Venus, Mars) and Pluto. How you think (Mercury), relate (Venus), and take action (Mars) are all in flux as more and more shadow material (Pluto) is making its way out of the proverbial woodwork, personally and collectively. All of this air energy is being filtered through the fiery cauldron of the heart.

Other than the Sun, all of these Aquarian planets are invisible to the naked eye, reminding us that a lot is happening beneath the surface. There is so much that we cannot see — and yet we are constantly trying to “know it all” by exposing ourselves to an onslaught of information that is impossible to integrate. Even as we find ourselves more connected than ever, the effect of this overstimulation can fracture your sense of agency and identity, not to mention deplete your nervous system.

The asteroid goddess Vesta - a hearth tending goddess like Brigid - is also in Aquarius right now, in a tight opposition to the Moon. Though subtle, her presence invites energetic protection through focus, devotion and boundaries. I am not suggesting that you put your head in the sand and ignore what is happening on the planet at this time, but rather to titrate your exposure and intake.

Leo energy is a steady flame at the center of your being. Too much heat brings inflammation, too little leaves one feeling lackluster. This Full Moon is an opportunity to consider the state of your inner fire and its relationship to the information you are consuming. What narratives (personal and collective) are circling around the center of your being? Where you might want to invite a new way of orienting to all that is happening in your life and the world at large? What information feeds your inner fire in a sustainable way? What creative responses are available to you in this moment?

THE FATHER: We are witnessing the effects of toxic masculinity on full display, this card invites you to see the Father as a pattern, not a person. Align with the protector energy within by embodying virtues such as honesty, wisdom and loyalty. This card strongly aligns with the Leo Full Moon.

MOTHER OF CUPS: The Mother/Queen of Cups has shown up with each reading this lunar cycle. She reminds us that emotional maturity and self-tending opens to door to intuitive guidance and insights.

SIX OF CUPS (R): An invitation to consider how your remembrance and retelling of past events might be keeping you stuck in an emotional spin cycle. Be gentle with your pain points; this an opportunity to learn what truly nourishes your being.

TEN OF WANDS (R): The ways you’ve been using your energy is not sustainable for the long term. Keep heading this way and if you haven’t already, you will burn out. Conserve your energy by letting go of something that is weighing you down.

THREE OF PENTACLES: As Mr. Rogers said, “look for the helpers”. There is more support available than you might think. Making the best use of the resources at hand; sharing and collaborating in real, tangible ways.

As I write these words, it’s an overcast morning and the waxing Moon has just made its final conjunction with Neptune in Pisces for the rest of our lifetime! I’ve done the math, and that is 14 years of Moon/Neptune conjunctions in Pisces, roughly 168 conjunctions in total! If you have any prominent planetary placements in Pisces you’ve likely been quite aware of Neptune’s slippery and mysterious energy working its way through your life… dissolving and dreaming and reforming your relationship with that area of your chart. The New Moon is a Dark Moon, a beginning that is hidden from sight. It’s a leap of faith to give yourself over to the promise of growth; the first sighting of the Crescent Moon a sign of a covenant fulfilled.

Who doesn’t love a fresh start? The Moon offers us one every 28.5 days… and yet this first New Moon of 2026 is also the last New Moon in the Year of the Wood Snake, which leaves us in the curious realm of beginning and completing.

This first/last New Moon arrives on January 18th at 28° of Capricorn, in cardinal earth. When traveling in zodiacal order, Capricorn is the final earth sign in the trinity of earth, and understanding the sign in this way speaks to the type of the earth found in Capricorn. This can help you to match the quality of your intention to the energetic signature of the sign. For clarity, I am writing about seasons through the lens of my northern hemisphere Wheel of the Year lived experience.

In case you aren’t familiar, zodiacal order of the signs goes like this (earth signs are highlighted): Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, Pisces.

Earth sign wise, we begin with Taurus, fixed earth. Taurus is a fertile field ripe for planting. It’s easy to get a little giddy in spring, and Taurus earth welcomes an abundance of seeds. The ones that root deepest are those aligned with your values; Taurus is where you learn how to tend to the garden so that these seeds will flourish.

Next is Virgo, mutable earth. Virgo arrives as Summer is ending and Autumn is around the corner. First harvest is happening, and you must separate the wheat from the chaff so that the grain is easy to assimilate. In Virgo you are discerning, keeping what is vitalizing and removing what is unhealthy or no longer viable. Here you make choices about what is worth your continued tending, what you cast off feeds the soil.

By the time we arrive in Capricorn, cardinal earth, you are working with a mature garden that is wintering. Much is dormant, and yet the soil here is rich with nutrients. This is your Great Grandmothers garden, home to the hundred year old roses that, when in bloom, offer the sweetest scent and the most vibrant color. In Capricorn season, rose hips dot the landscape. Nutrient dense, they hold the promise of a future bloom.

This Capricorn New Moon invites you to fortify the foundations of your life. Capricorn soil is deeply established and sustained by Saturn — patience, time, and the laws of karma all come into play. The New Moon is sextile both Saturn (the ruler of the lunation) and Neptune in Pisces. Saturn provides the ballast, anchoring your Neptunian dream into this bed of ancient soil. Saturn + Neptune together invite you to dream the big dream only if you are ready to commit to the process of cultivation.

If you are ready to commit, your role is to honor your intention by showing up each day to tend to this dream. Choose your seed intention with care; in order nurture this seed, to breathe life into your wish requires commitment, and that leap of faith, especially if what you are wanting is something you have yet to experience in your life.

Other supporting planetary aspects include the New Moon conjunct Mercury & Mars in Capricorn; Mercury offers mental fortitude & pragmatic thinking, while Mars brings the energy to show up to the work at hand. Out of sign conjunctions to this New Moon include Venus, Pluto & Vesta in Aquarius: love, transformation and devotion are necessary ingredients. Lastly, a trine to Uranus rx in Taurus brings unexpected ways of moving what feels stuck.

If you are like me, you may not be feeling crystal clear about what it is that you are dreaming into form. Maybe you are getting glimpses of something new, but the old way of doing/being is tripping you up. My advice? Look to where the proverbial shit is hitting the fan in your personal life. It must be an area of your life where you have a measure of agency to shift your attitude or behavior and create new results. Wherever you are feeling the most activation — this is where the old is dying, where the final shed of the Wood Snake is happening. Where the future vision wants to take root.

What isn’t working right now? What would you change if you could? This New Moon says you can change it, but it won’t it might not be easy, and it will not be quick. Certainly the fires of the Leo Full Moon and Imbolc will shed some light on your situation, but it’s important to remember that each New Moon is a six month contract. Show up each day to the change you are initiating at this New Moon and you WILL see progress when the Full Moon in Capricorn arrives at the end of June.

This is the lunar cycle where so much changes astrologically: both Neptune and Saturn exit Pisces and enter Aries for reals; Mercury changes signs twice, moving into Aquarius and then Pisces, where it will have it’s first retrograde of the year; Mars follows Venus and the Sun into Aquarius; Venus, the Sun, Mercury and Mars all make conjunctions with Pluto; and we enter into eclipse season after the Full Moon!!!

You have the ability to weave a new story for yourself about how your life can or will be. • QUEEN OF CUPS - guidance comes from the intuitive realms. Queens speak to an inner mastery, and the Queen of Cups brings emotional self-reliance. Orca matriarch carries the memories of your dream from the depths of your psyche to your conscious awareness. Stay close to your heart.

• JUDGEMENT - a card of awakening to the truth of the matter, a call to higher order. The self critic can be found here; if it shows up, you are invited to meet this part with compassion. Snake and her shed skin show us the growth that happens when we let go of what we have outgrown.

The Last Quarter Moon is where we discover how we are working with the energy of the Full Moon in real time, where we run into the same patterns and habits, a familiar friction that amplifies pre-existing pain points. Quarter Moons say — something has to give. It’s time to try a different approach.

This LQM arrives on January 10, at 20° Libra, and is square the Sun at 20° Capricorn. There is so much planetary action happening in Capricorn right now, a cosmic seeding that feels like ancient fertility magic. Ancient because the energy of Capricorn is elder energy, and I like to think of this sign as carrying the wisdom of the Grandmothers.

Each planetary conjunction is initiating a new cycle in cardinal earth, planting cosmic seeds that are located deep within the soil of my body, the soil that was laid down by the genetics and life circumstances of my ancestors, especially my matrilineal line. There is something about growing in the womb of the body that birthed me that renders the mother line the main power line in my own body. Things found in this ancestral soil include karmic patterns I inherited.

As each cosmic seed cracks open within me, tiny roots begin their journey downward, each rootling boring deeper into the very marrow of my bones and the bones of my ancestors, while at the other end of the seed a tendril begins to work its way towards the topsoil, towards the external. As within so without, but the laws of nature and the seed show me that first it is inward, downward, through, and then out.

Each seed is an initiation that roots itself into the soul soil of my being, while at the same time I am being called to witness a shedding so epic that it feels paradoxical, but somehow just right. Which is to say, at moments I find myself deeply despairing, looking up from the bottom of the well.

Stuck in the mud again.

I remind myself that the year of the wood snake is still with us through mid-February, and that we are coming up to the final lunar cycle in this way of marking time. Right now it feels as though there is something that needs to be released and composted, a way of being so familiar it feels like in letting it go, I’m losing a part of myself. Some of these burdens are no longer mine to carry, even if I agreed to do so in the past.

The Last Quarter Moon in Libra is ruled by Venus in Capricorn, Venus having just been renewed within the solar fire, Venus having just reunited with Mars, fertilizing her desire. Venus, still hidden in the rays of the Sun, invisible to us bet deeply felt — SHE is orchestrating the LQM in Libra — a cardinal air sign that is oriented towards the mirror of the other, learning through 1:1 relationships.

Venus & the LQM are pointing to the skipped step, or perhaps the tree root that I keep tripping over, landing in the place I always find myself. The ground that is so familiar, the relational habits that have kept me safe, even as I have abandoned myself again and again at the altar of keeping the peace.

It’s not that I want a war, what I want is to stop being at war with myself. I want to find a way to harmonize the disparate parts of me so that I can show up whole in relationship. Doing so will amend this ancestral soil of bloodline and bone knowing, allowing me to move into the year of the fire horse just a little bit lighter and a helluva lot stronger.

Starting the calendar year with a Full Moon — and a SuperMoon at that — tells me that we are in for a BIG year, one with intense feelings and many opportunities for growth and healing. THE MOON IN CANCER & THE SIX OF CUPS

The Full Moon is at home in Cancer; here, she reminds you that you must take care of yourself in order to grow. She says YOU are your own best medicine. With a conjunction to Jupiter retrograde and a square to Chiron, any pain points you are experiencing may be feeling extra sensitive right now.

This Full Moon wants you to nurture your capacity to tend to the parts of yourself that feel abandoned. They are longing for you to notice them, and they may be acting out to get your attention.

Chiron is the archetype of the wounded healer, and in Aries, many of us are in the process of working with childhood trauma through conscious reparenting and inner child healing. Having just stationed direct, Chiron is not moving much, but is facing forward, indicating a new chapter of your healing journey is coming. But first, you must integrate the process you are completing so that you can enter the next phase of your journey without holding onto this emotional baggage. See the ritual at the bottom of this transmission to help you do just that. For context, Chiron was retrograde from July 30th 2025 - January 2nd, 2026 from 27° Aries - 22° Aries.

The Six of Cups reminds us that we carry the past with us into the present. Often seen as a card of nostalgia for childhood, this card shows us that the default tone of your nervous system and emotional patterns around giving and receiving were set into place when you were a child. Even when this is painful, it is familiar territory. It is so easy to fall into old habits even when this keeps you small and limits your options. It is important to remember that your coping mechanisms are here for a reason - they kept you safe and provided a way of making sense of your experience. It is important to honor them as you are ready to release them.

Whatever is arising at this Cancer Full Moon is here for healing. Be both gentle and firm with yourself. This is mama bear energy bringing fierce protection for the tender & vulnerable parts of you that are making themselves known at this time.

In Capricorn we are working with the very real limits of both time and the physical world; and with 4 traditional planets in Capricorn (Mercury, Venus, the Sun & Mars) you probably have a lot of topics or areas in your life that you are juggling right now.

The Page of Pentacles is an apprentice in the realm of matter, open to starting again and willing to put in the effort to experience new results. Capricorn is where you channel the dream into your day to day life through practical actions. It’s a chop wood, carry water kind of vibe. Growth requires effort. Dreams need foundations. Repeated actions and routines produce results. This is not about the hustle, but about steady and sustained actions over time. Capricorn asks for commitment to your long term goals. Think legacy, not instant gratification.

THE BIG PICTURE & THE FOOL

At the time of this Full Moon, both the Sun and the Moon are in beneficial relationships with Saturn & Neptune in Pisces and Uranus retrograde in Taurus. As the ruler of Capricorn, Saturn has the loudest presence, with a reality check that you only have so much time to work with. Saturn also points to very real limitations that many of us may experience besides time; whether financial, relational or physical, these limits are real. Neptune brings the mystery, the dream, the magic, a way to shape-shift time in the imaginal realms. However, Neptune can also bring distraction and escapism from the harder choices that need to be made under the light of this Full Moon.

The Fool is a harbinger of new beginnings. Even with the very real limits you are facing, there is unbound potential available this year. A sort of innocence is needed right now, a way of approaching your life as a sacred journey. The Big Picture of your life requires a leap of faith and a willingness to fail up.

All of these slower moving planets (Saturn, Neptune, Uranus) are finishing transits in signs that they have been traveling through for 3 - 14 years (depending on the planet) and each has had a taste of the energetics of new signs they will be moving into for years to come. So if you have a sense of what’s coming but have no idea how you are going to get there where you’ll end up, this is because even as we turn the page to a new calendar year, we are still completing old cycles.

It isn’t until mid February when we enter the year of the Fire Horse and the Saturn/Neptune conjunction at 0° Aries happens that the mystery begins to make itself known in very real ways. All of the cazimi magic will bring glimmers of this unknown terrain, but there is work to be done if you want to harness the new energy that is coming.

FULL MOON RITUAL

Cancer Full Moons often bring up old feelings, especially tied to family, childhood emotional patterns, grief or nostalgia. Here is a simple write and burn ritual to work with the energy of this lunation. You’ll need paper, something to write with, a fire-proof container, matches or a lighter, and a glass of water.

Begin by grounding and clearing your space in whatever way feels right to you. Feel free to light a candle, gather any crystals or supportive objects for your ritual.

When you are ready to begin, take your piece of paper and write down:

• Emotions you’ve been holding in

• Old wounds that are still causing pain

• Ways that you have abandoned your own needs

• Any emotional habits you’re ready to release

• Any dysfunctional relational patterns that you may have inherited from your family, especially the motherline

• or any feelings that are arising at this time

Once you are finished writing, read what you wrote out loud, and then say something along these lines: “these feelings are valid and they no longer define me. I release them with love.” Then burn the paper in your fire safe container; alternately you can rip up the paper and throw it away.

Once that is complete, take a moment to acknowledge the ways you’ve been showing up for yourself, and/or ways you will show up for yourself moving forward, and come up with a word or a statement that represents this. Some examples would be “healthy boundaries”, “self-care”, or “emotional healing”. Speak these words into the glass of water 3 times, and then drink the water.

After you have finished drinking, take a few moments to feel the water and the energy of your words entering into the cells of your body. If it feels supportive, you can wrap your arms around yourself in a loving hug or place on hand on your heart and one hand on your belly while this is happening. Breathe in the healing energy.

A saltwater bath or shower with salt scrub is a beautiful way to complete this ritual. Take note of your dreams the next few nights as more material may surface. Feel free to repeat this ritual if need be.

This is a very intense Full Moon friends! It is vital that you tend and befriend yourself in ways that feel loving, nurturing, healing and protective, without bypassing the difficult emotions that may be part of your experience.
